"I am a fabulous woman
and I will have a fabulous life!" I cried out to myself.
I called beloved friends and spoke that sentence to them
to claim its truth and to commit myself to the charge of
looking forward, dreaming, and creating the life I desired.
I had been treading water at the drowning point for years.
I needed to liberate myself. No one else would.
To move from dormancy, to imagine
life's possibilities, to be courageous, to accept the pain
and move on to accepting the lessons and wisdom that shadowed
it. Daring to live, to be present in my life and to live
it wide open. With joy, this is where I am today. What a
fabulous thing life is...to be treasured and shared.
Rediscovering oneself is a blessed
and holy event. Stripped of the "roles" one plays,
the question arises, "Who am I?" I rediscovered
my strength, my agility, my power and my joy while on a 28-day
backpacking and rock climbing expedition through The National
Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). This trip with NOLS had
been a dream of mine for
thirty years. Nature has sweet lessons to teach through her
beauty and through her might. The "Outdoor Educator
Course" through NOLS equipped me to share the outdoors
with others.
Everyone is an artist. Some of
us just don't remember that we are. When we were children,
creativity was not a problem. We played make believe, we
created extraordinary things out of yarn and cardboard and
buttons. The exploration of our world and of our abilities
to move and create in it were boundless. They still are.
Process painting is a method of self discovery that has no
finished product in mind. There is no comparison, no critique
at the end of session, no right and wrong way to express
oneself...there is simply the opportunity to explore with
paint and paper what the heart is wanting to bring forth.
At times, the painting can tell us secrets that our heart
is wanting to speak. At other times, the joy of playing with
lively color and gooey paint is an extraordinary means to
rediscover ourselves. Want to play? Please contact me for:
